Is
it too soon for me to move again?
If you recently made a move to another firm, and the opportunity
didn’t turn out to be as good a fit as you had hoped, don’t
make the mistake of thinking that you need to tough it out
for a few years to keep your resume intact. Firms are recruiting
associates more vigorously than they have in years. If you
are currently with a large firm and you have good academic
credentials, most firms want to meet with you, even if you
have moved recently.
They
may be a good law firm, but would they be good for me?
A successful move depends on a comfortable fit. When considering
another firm, reputation and profitability are important,
but the firm’s personality has to be a good match too. Figuring
out a firm’s personality and culture from the outside is a
significant challenge. We can help. Avis Caravello Attorney
Search Consultants has spent a decade building an insiders’
knowledge of California law firms. We can provide some of
the information you need to ensure a good match.

think Avis is great, and very well connected." |

My
firm isn’t planning for the future. Will another firm be any
different?
Moving to a new firm may be your best plan for the future,
but how will you know if this new firm is positioned for long-term
stability, profits and growth? How do you tell the difference
between a good firm and a firm that’s thriving? Before you
go anywhere, you need to make sure that your new firm is going
places as well. Avis Caravello can help find the right firm
for you. For over ten years we have been doing just that for
lawyers throughout California. A commitment to finding the
perfect fit is what makes us different from other search firms.
FAQs from Partners...
How
do I know if a new firm will have the resources to support
my practice?
As a partner, you have spent your career building positive
relationships with clients by being responsive and by providing
excellent legal services. Your clients trust you and give
you business based on that trust. But would moving to a new
firm be as good for your clients as it might be for you? What
if the new firm has no depth of experience in your area? What
if they don’t have the lawyer power you need to support your
practice? What would happen to your clients then? Moving to
a new firm could be the best thing for you and for your clients.
You need to make sure. Avis Caravello Attorney Search Consultants
can help.
Will
they welcome me as much as they welcome my book of business?
After building a successful career, the last thing you need
is to end up isolated at a new firm that seems to want your
book of business more than they want you. Moving to another
firm is a major step. You will want assurances that they will
make a real effort to integrate you and your practice. You
will also need all the information you can get from someone
who has inside information on firms and people. Avis Caravello
works with candidates and firms to create an integration plan
that will help a new partner settle in and feel at home as
quickly as possible. Lawyers placed by Avis Caravello tend
to fit in well, and our retention stats confirm that. A commitment
to finding the perfect fit is what makes us different from
other search firms.
